My last va day

My last va day is coming up. I am so excited. Also I am excited to be done with classes. I can not concentrate because I am getting reved up about boards. I just want to study for those and not class any more. I have a plan to study with Tandem every Monday after classses and every Friday when there are no classes.

preparing for the last day

I have all of my requirements, so the last day of clinic i have put two people down to just take xrays and probe, and right now i forgot what that word is. Oh well. I am hoping that one of my friends that has never had his teeth cleaned can be my board patient, i guess we will find out the last day of clinic. I hope he is because I have been planning on that for months.

So close

So close to the end of this semester I can taste it. Only one more clinic session and one more VA day. I really feels like this semester just started. I don't understand where the time goes. I am getting scared for boards though. I will start studying for boards over christmas break with tandem.

My patient cancelled

I have had very few times of having a pt cancell on me. She was a quad of a class 3. I had to find a patient at lunch and he turned out to be a class two. I feels like any thing I see besides a class 3 is a complete and utter waste of time!!!! All I want in class 3's. But luckily I did find a lady in the bathroom today that has never been in for a cleaning and put her on my schedual. yea

Yea another 3

So I have all of my exam quads of a 3, but I am thinking ahead to next semester. We need tons. I got one quad of a three today, couldn't be more happy about it. My next appt no showed though, wish I could be working on someone right now. I think that I have a revelation today that I do not mind doing xrays. I was afraid of them before and thought I had a disadvantage to everyone because they had all taken them before being assistant. But I kind of like them now.

Va

Today was a good experience. I was probing a gentleman with no significant pockets. Took xrays and found calc on the distal of his 2nd molar (didn't have his 3rd). Cleaned it and then the probe went down into an 8-9 mm pocket-wooh, surprize. I was able to place some arestin in there. Found out that the tip of arestin is fat and doesn't easily go into the deep pocket. Had to use another cartriage of it and try again. Now i know to squeeze the tip.

That was my last class 3 exam

yea, now I have all my class three exams done. But I still need to find more class threes to do next semester and multipule board patients. Yikes! I need 6 patients that are class three because I have already seen 3. But that seems like a huge undertaking. I don't know where I will find them but they are out there. I will do a sceening on two patients the last day in clinic this semester to help me.

MOre PE's

Yea, I did two more PE's today that were due this semester. Blood Glucose and Diagnodent. Those ones were stressful to me for some reason. I'm glad they are over. I did one more quad of my class three exam. And a full mouth of a class 5. I only need one more quad of a class 3 exam and I will be golden, or maybe that was the last one I need to check....

Last clinic

I had a question that I need to ask and I want to write it down before I forget it. For anesthesia boards am I supposed to say "aspirating", then wait how long to say "negative aspiration"? Immediately after or wait until the examiners say "Proceed". Perry said just wait, but does that mean before or after I say "negative aspiration"?

sitting pretty

I believe to have all of my requirements right now. Not to say that I am done. My patients still have to show up so that I can clean them and get their quads counted. But if they do than I will have all my requirements! I was so unlucky last year that I definantly deserve this good fortune. Hopefully my lucky street doesn't end!
